Country home decor is all about comfort and coziness. This kind of décor has a range of style depending on the geographical location but is generally represented by natural wood furniture, muted colors, and vintage fabrics. Lighting for a country home décor requires research and planning because a contemporary light will look completely out of place in such a home.

Rustic Chandeliers

Rustic lighting when incorporated properly can turn a cold dark room into a bright and sunny haven. All you got to do is substitute your light fixture for a rustic wooden chandelier. Look out for multi-armed fittings and add few pleated mini shades to bring a complete new look to your home. Some even go for vintage fixtures while some source chandeliers that imitates the design of the house.

Hammered Metal Wall Sconces

Wall sconces are normally used to highlight an art or an antique mirror. Mostly it is used in the foyers or in the living room as focal lights above the fireplace. By adding a brass or bronze made wall sconce one can add a perfect country touch to the home décor.

Natural Lighting

White coloured ceilings, walls and floors reflects light and will make the kitchen pleasant and light to work in. The use of bamboo blinds will complement the rich wood finish and will adjust the light’s intensity as desired. It will make sure; the kitchen is well-lit even after the sun goes down. You can also have a large window at the end of the gallery kitchen to ensure a good source of potential strong natural light in the house.

Pendant lighting

Pendant lighting is also sparingly simple and handy to incorporate. Hanging pendant lights in the kitchen in varying heights and intensity gives the room a great look or one can also go for tiffany pendants to enhance the country decor with some vintage.

Natural Table Lamps

Table lamps made from natural wood adds a great country touch to the whole décor. They not only look natural but also makes a great décor element for the country home.

Increase Diversity

Include several light sources in every room, and spread them out to create about four to five layers of light. Fixtures such as task lamps or accent lights should be a good source of lighting for your country home décor.

Up lighting

To expand an ambient light in the room, use incorporated up lighting. To brighten cathedral ceilings, add up lights at the nine-foot level that will help in keeping the light from getting lost in the beams. Although, if the ceiling is low and light-colored, allow the light to bounce back with the help of standing floor lamps such as torches.
