Coastal Havens

One of the most popular bathrooms design is the beach design where one incorporates elements of the sea and the beach in the design. With turquoise, sea blue, teal, cerulean and bondi blue shades as colors for the walls, one can bring the coast right to the bathroom. Ginseng bone travertine tiles which give off a sandy look mirror the look of a calming beach. Pastel Shades

Pastel colors such as beige, nude, fallow, redwood and burnt sienna instantly conjure calming images. Additionally, shades of soft grey such as cadet gray and taupe gray have a naturally soothing feeling to it, so teaming up the color with white will work well for a calming effect. Medium coffee hues, light tans and ivories are soft on the eyes, providing a blank canvas for the eyes and invoking relaxation.

Accessories

Accessories around the bathroom play an important role in upping the ante on soothing effect. Wicker chaise lounges work as an excellent accessory in a bathroom with beige theme. Treasured finds such as pebbles, memorabilia and photographs give the bathroom a homely look. While most of us bring books or magazines into the bathroom, placing neat, little magazine racks or wicker baskets to place them instead of the floor is a great idea. Fresh flowers arranged in glassware make for excellent accessories on the basin and sinks. Candles are great romantic additions to the bathroom, and if one is a little skeptic about safety aspects, then oil diffusers are great replacements for candles with aromatherapy. A saltwater fish tank also makes for a great addition.

Spa Retreats

Wood is the popular material of choice when it comes to creating a natural, spa-like bathroom. Bringing an earthy feel to the room, wood flooring gives off a seamless look. Chrome accents, white fixtures and beige limestone walls finish off the look. A curved bathtub softens the look of the area, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. To finish off the look, a walk-in shower with glass walls and large mirrored cabinets is an excellent addition.
