The state government and local authorities left no stone unturned to ensure that proper arrangements are in place for devotees, with close to two lakh devotees who came to attend the Visakhapatnam Chandanotsavam of Lord Varaha Narasimha Swamy on Akshaya Tritiya day at Vizag. apart from the free darshan queue, there will be separate queues for devotees with passes priced at Rs 1,000, Rs 500 and Rs 200 as well as a special queue for VIP devotees to ensure a smooth flow of devotees was in place.

Special milk booths for infants and children were set up in addition to water kiosks along the route to quench the thirst of devotees trekking up the hill for a glimpse of the lord at Visakhapatnam Chandanotsavam. Apart from this, mobile toilets as well as emergency medical services were also made available.

The temple doors, which closed at 6 pm on Monday, were open at 3 am on Tuesday and the puja began with Suprabhatam and Visvaksena after which Anand Gajapathi Raju and other trustees had  the Nijaroopa darshan of the deity, which was devoid of the four layers of sandalwood paste (chandan) that cover it throughout the year. Also offered to the lord were Pattuvastramulu (new clothes) at Visakhapatnam Chandanotsavam.
