Luxury Bathroom

There was a time when the idea of ‘luxury’ in bathrooms was quite unknown to the Indian public. But today, thanks to Internet penetration, bathrooms have become a luxury haven for those leading a stressful life.

Luxury bathroom is all about elegant sophistication with a lot of modern touches; right from modern fixtures to great views that would bring in nature to the doorstep of your bath even as you soak in.

Tiles: While remodelling your bathroom, tile selection is one important activity that would require careful consideration. This is not a sink or cabinet that can be replaced easily. So much thought needs to put in, where bathroom tiles are concerned. There is a huge plethora of choice depending on your budget but if you are aiming for a hotel-like atmosphere, then opt for simple patterns and pleasant pastel colours.

Cabinets: Bringing in the right cabinets and furniture is important in a bathroom. A closet to store bath towels and clothes, cabinet space to keep bath essentials is also necessary. Depending on the style of the bathroom one can select the cabinet; vintage, traditional, beach inspired, there are many options available.

Powder room space: Selecting the right mirror and sink faucet goes a long way to creating that perfect powder space you have dreamed of. The colour of the faucet should ideally complement those of the tiles and add onto the elegance of the space. Well-chosen cabinets should be a part of this space to keep toiletries and beauty essentials.

Open Concept Shower: A true luxury element, open concept shower clearly demarcates an area to take a shower with glass doors and multiple showerheads. Some even add seating inside this space, to enjoy a prolonged bath. Waterproof speakers too can be added to up the luxury quotient; a feature that would appeal to bad bathroom singers.

Bath Tub: Luxury has always been synonymous with ‘bathtub’. A bathroom cannot be called luxurious if it does not have a jacuzzi set in it. Setting the bathtub next to the window would be a classy touch and if the window has a great view of the garden or the skyline depending on where the house is situated, it will be truly luxurious. Soft carpets, hot foamy waters and a glass of champagne can truly relieve that stress you have been building.

Lighting: For a truly luxurious bathroom, nothing less than a mini chandelier would do. Depending on the style of the bathroom, you could go for stunning pieces of art that would provide ample lighting to bath in luxury and also add a romantic feel. Crystals, wrought iron chandeliers and wall sconces that can be fixed with aromatic candles also add a nice touch.
